Release Notes — Week of 2026-10-12
This release makes work requests and tasks work better with the people around them, brings every record's documents and filled forms into one tab, and fixes notifications: opportunity events now notify the record's people, email is no longer silently skipped, and admins set system defaults that each user can override.
Migrations to apply
Tenant migrations 119 – 125 ship with this release. Run them on every environment with:
npx ts-node apps/api/src/scripts/run-tenant-migrations.ts
| Migration | Does |
|---|---|
| 119 | New work-request assignment mode Requester picks. |
| 120 | Task invitations: accept / decline columns on tasks; the task_invitation and task_response notification events and email templates. |
| 121 | Task guests (task_invitees): people invited to a task by email. |
| 122 | Notification preferences become overrides. A user row that still equals the system default now follows it; real personal choices are kept. Run on a copy first if you want to review. |
| 123 | Email templates for opportunity assigned / updated / stage changed / won / lost. |
| 124 | Email template for task guest invitations. |
| 125 | Email templates for work request received / assigned / updated and for being added to a record team. |
What admins need to do
- Review Notification Settings → System rules. It is a new tab. Check which channels are on by default, mark any channel that must always be sent as mandatory (lock icon), and choose who is notified about opportunity events. See Notification Settings.
- Opportunity "Updated" notifications are off by default so people aren't flooded. Tick a channel for Opportunity Updated if you want them, and pick which fields count.
- If a team isn't receiving opportunity emails, check that its members are on the record team, or tick Record's team members under System rules.
- Work request types: you can now choose Requester picks as the assignment mode. See Work Request Settings.
- Forms: you can make a form available for Work Requests and Tasks. Filling and emailing a form on a record no longer needs the Forms → Create permission. See Form Builder.
- Task invitation emails need an email provider configured under Notification Settings → Channels.
Work requests
- Requester picks. A request type can let the person raising the request choose the team, then one of its members. The team and the member are both required. The request starts as accepted by that person.
- Tasks on a work request. A new Tasks tab holds calendar tasks for the request. A task without an assignee or date takes the request's, so it appears on the assignee's calendar and syncs to Google Calendar.
- Tasks follow reassignment. When the request is reassigned, its open tasks move to the new assignee, and the Google Calendar event moves with them. Tasks someone gave to a third person stay where they are.
- Tasks are linked to every record on the request — its record, its project and its manual links — and appear on each of those records.
- Forms on work requests. Forms made available for Work Requests appear in the request's Files & Forms tab. Forms can also be linked as an associated record.
- Workflows can create work requests. See Workflows.
Tasks
- Invitations. When a task is assigned to someone else, they get an in-app and email invitation with Accept and Decline links. The task page shows a banner to answer, with an optional note. Declining notifies the person who gave the task and removes it from the assignee's Google Calendar.
- Guests. The task form has a Guests section, like a calendar invite. Add anyone by email, or pick from suggestions taken from the linked record — the record's contact, its account's contacts and an opportunity's contacts. Guests get an email with Accept / Maybe / Decline links and a calendar file. They answer on a public page and don't need a login.
- Time zones. Task dates were saved as if they were in the server's time zone, so a user in GMT+5 had their tasks stored five hours late and Google Calendar showed the wrong time. Dates are now saved in the user's own time zone. Tasks saved before this release keep their old, shifted times.
- Open-tasks badge. The Tasks item in the sidebar shows how many open tasks you have, in red when any are overdue.
- Files & Forms tab on tasks.
Files, documents and forms
- One tab per record. Every record has a single Files & Forms tab: the forms to fill, the documents, and a combined list of everything on the record and its associated records. Opportunities, leads and work requests used to have separate Files / Documents and Forms tabs.
- All documents & forms. The combined list tags each item with the module it came from (for example Account: Contegris), can be filtered by Documents / Forms and by module, and opens documents and filled forms directly.
- Account page. Submissions rolled up from related records can now be opened and read.
- Document viewer. Click a document to read PDFs, images, audio and video inside the CRM. Other file types download.
- Delete works. Deleting a document used to remove it from the screen only. It now deletes it, asks first, and shows an error if it fails.
- Forms permission. Filling a form on a record, emailing it or generating a link no longer requires the Forms → Create permission, which is for building forms. It follows access to the record.
- File fields in a record's custom fields now show as a download link instead of
[object Object].
Workflows
- New action: Create Work Request. Raises a work request of a chosen type for the triggering record, with a title, details, priority, due date, team, assignee and the type's form answers. Not available in workflows triggered by work requests, to avoid endless loops. See Workflow Builder.
- Create Opportunity fixed. The name now fills in
{{trigger.field}}placeholders (it used to save the placeholder text), and the new opportunity gets the default pipeline's first stage, an owner and the account and lead links. Opportunities created earlier with a placeholder name must be removed by hand — see the troubleshooting note in Workflows.
Notifications
- Opportunity notifications. Assigned, stage changed, won and lost now notify the record owner and the record team by email and in the app. The person who made the change is never notified. Updated notifies for the fields an admin picks, and several quick edits arrive as one message listing what changed.
- System defaults and personal overrides. Admins set what each event does by default and can make channels mandatory. Each user then changes only what they want under My preferences: a dot marks their own choices, a lock marks a required channel, and Reset to default returns to the system default. Later changes to the defaults reach every user who hasn't set their own.
- Email is no longer silently skipped. An event with no email template used to send nothing even when the user had Email switched on. It now sends a plain email built from the notification.
- Links in emails are complete. The "View" button in templated emails used to point to a relative path; it is now a full link.
- New templates for opportunity events, task guest invitations, work request events and "added to a record team".
Fixes
- Department-scoped access returned an error ("bind message supplies 4 parameters") on work requests and other lists for users whose role limits them to their department. It now works.
